Using the Motion CL900 Computer - WIP
Connecting Power Adapter
Insert power adapter plug into socket on front left side of unit under the small square bung
Plug mains power adapter into mains or into the vehicle inverter outlet
Turning On
Locate the small square power button on the rear left hand side of the unit
Press the button
Press the ‘Key’ (Security) button next to the power indicator to lock or unlock the CL900 (equivalent to pressing Control Alt Delete on the keyboard)
Turning Off
Close biscoPro
Tap the Power Icon on the desktop
Motion Dashboard
Tap the Microsoft icon on the desktop and then tap Motion Dashboard in the pop-up menu (It is also under Motion Computing in ‘All Programs’)
or
Tap ‘Show hidden Icons’ and tap the ‘M’ icon on the top left of the pop-up panel
Using the Pen
Tap = select
Tap hold = right click
Double tap = double click
Tap drag = drag and drop
Pinch fingers = zoom in
Spread fingers = zoom out
Flick = scroll through a list or move quickly
Pressing and hold function button = right click
Touch Input mode
PEN ONLY (recommended)
Set in Motion Dashboard, Pen & Tablet, Touch Settings, Digitizer Options, Input mode
Adjust the display brightness
Open Motion Dashboard.
Tap Display.
Move the Brightness slider to the desired level.
Checking Battery Remaining Charge
Press the battery gauge button on the left side to see a display of status lights on the CL900 screen
Five lights—Battery fully charged
Four lights—80% remaining
Three lights—60% remaining
Two lights—40% remaining
One light—20% remaining
Five amber lights—Battery is low and requires an immediate charge
Check the battery is charging
Locate the battery gauge button on the left-side of the tablet. The light is on when
the tablet is connected to a power source.
Steady green—Battery is fully charged and the tablet is running on mains.
Steady amber—Battery is charging.
Off—Not charging and the tablet is running on battery
Flashing amber (slow)—Less than 10% battery charge remaining.
Flashing amber (fast)—There is an error. Call Motion Computing Customer Support.
Starting biscoPro
Double tap on the biscoPro icon on the desktop
Power Management Settings
Dims after 1 minute, display off after 5 minutes. Sleeps after 10 minutes
To wake up the tablet press and release the power button.
External Display Screen
Connect external screen to socket on side of unit.
Use Motion Dashboard to select the MIRROR DISPLAY Display Scheme (Preferred)
Preferred Default Settings for BiscoPro
Motion user interface applications . . . . . . . .
Set the taskbar to BOTTOM?? left edge ???
Set desktop theme to default MotionTouch120dpi
Motion Dashboard – on task bar – show hidden icons – top left ‘M’ icon - Motion Dashboard
Configure touch settings digitizer input mode - PEN Only
Sound feedback = OFF
Adjust pen settings to ..
Adjusting tablet PC settings – default is RIGHT HAND
Attach the pen tether
Setting display options - Adjust display brightness to AMBIENT. (FIXED)
Display orientation - DISABLE automatic rotation
Setting up an external display (e.g. in the office)- default MIRROR DISPLAY
Speech recognition – not used in BiscoPro
Set power plan to MOTION OPTIMISED
On Battery Settings: DIM 1 minute, Display Off 5 min, Sleep 10 min, Brightness 50%
Set power button functions –default is SHUTDOWN
Set up users and passwords - IT staff
Setting up user accounts – IT staff
