Processing Inspection Items
The Preconiditons, Inspection Items, and Supervision Items tabs are all variations of the inspection item so work in much the same way.
The inspection items are data driven so can be set to suit your requirements.
Inspection Items
This is what it looks like:

The panel on the right shows all of the inspection items in a tree structure with the inspection items grouped into folders sorted alphabetically. The icon next to the record in the tree shows the status of the item.
The process for inspecting items is:
-
You click onto an item in the grid on the right.
-
The panel in the bottom right shows any guidance notes about the item.
-
You can record notes about the item in the panel on the bottom left.
-
Once you have decided if the item complies or not then press one of the buttons
Pass - passed, yes, or acceptable
No - failed, no, or not acceptable
Deferred - defer this item to a later inspection.
N/A - items is not relevant or does not apply to this inspection
-
When you set the item status it automatically moves onto the next item within the folder.
Deferred Items
Deferred items allow you to put off checking an item until the next inspection. It is used when, for some valid reason, an item that should be part of this inspection cannot be checked right now but is not a significant enough reason to fail the inspection.
If you have Deferred items you must select a next inspection before you can Pass the inspection. Deferred items are carried forward to the chosen next inspection and the final inspection cannot be completed until all deferred items are checked. Failed inspections do not carry forward deferred items.
An example could be a hot water cylinder that should be checked when doing a plumbing pre line but the builder is reluctant to install it because the building is not fully secure. Rather than failing the inspection the inspector can defer this item and check it on a later visit.
Bulk Changes
biscoPro allows you to change the status of all items in a folder at once. To do this just right click on a folder in the tree and select the required option.

Notes
When you record notes against the item they appear on the inspection report against the item.
If you click the Std Note button that pops up a list of pre determined notes. Pick a note and it copies it into the notes field. You can then edit the note or add more notes to it.
