Each aspect of the cost management process is represented by a node in the tree.

Quotes
The costs and pricing information used to quote customers.  Quotes are In Progress until Accepted or Declined.  Accepted quotes can automatically transfer to Budgets.  You can flag the quote as a variation.

Costs
Once you win the job you manage the actual costs against the Budget.  Actual Costs come from suppleir invoices, time related costs, or manual adjustments.  A project can have one or more budget so that you can track different aspects of it including variations.

Customer Invoices
You can invoice your customer from the budget or costs incurred.

Purchase Orders
Raise purchase orders against suppliers from the budget or manually.  While you are working on an order they are In Progress and one place are set to Ordered.  Once the order is complete and you have received the invoice it appears in completed.

Receipting
Allows you to track when you receive goods and services and match supplier invoices against the original order.  Receipted invoices can be exported to your accounting system for payment.

Manual Supplier Invoices
Allow you to enter invoices from suppliers that have no purchase order.

Manual Cost Adjustments
This allows you to add costs into jobs that do not relate directly to an invoice or to adjust costs allocated to the wrong areas.  Adjustments do not create a payment requirement.

Task Costs
Are for actual costs based on time sheets or recorded in diaries.

Process Costs
Are costs captured through a manufacturing process.

Cost Control Main Form
Clicking on the tree nodes allow you to navigate through the module.  It works in a similar way to the main form where you select a node in the primary treea and the detail in the secondary navigator.  You then see a preview in a grid on the right.

If you click on the top node it shows a summary grid that gives you an overview of the project.  Click <<here>> to find our more about how to use grid.
