Going Offline and Synchronisation

biscoPro can run in offline mode allowing you to work away from the office.  To do this it creates an XML format file of the required data.  You then log in as per normal and the system loads information from the XML file.

The synchronisation process also copies any documents that you have made available offline onto your local machine so that you can work with them locally.

Going Offline
To create your offline data click on the Synchronise button on the main form.

Select the date range required (or all), and press Ok.  The system will then create the data file for you to work offline.

The system looks at your diary, determines the appointments that you have in the specified date range, then gets all of the information for the projects that the appointments are related to.

The date range selection allows you to just get the information that you will need out in the field which will make the synchronisation process faster.  You can select all dates which will give you the data for every project that you have appointments for.

Once the file creation process is complete log out of biscoPro as normal and disconnect your machine from your network.

Working Offline
Log into biscoPro as per normal, if the system can't connect to your server it will go into offline mode loading the data from your file on your machine.

Going back Online
If you login to biscoPro and it can connect to the sever it will check to see if there is an offline file that has changed.  If it has you can choose to synchronise the changes to the server or to cancel the login process.

To ensure that your offline file is always up to date the system deletes the file after synchronisation or if there have been no offline changes.  This forces you to create a new file before going offline again.
